EARLY ACCESS

Observe MCP is an MCP server that gives an MCP client access to observability data from Infobip. AI agents can use this data to help you understand traffic, performance, and cost.

Use it to access traffic metrics, billing usage, error code lookups, and cross-channel message logs. These are read-only tools that an agent can call to reason about traffic it already sent.

Core capabilities

Observe MCP exposes three core capabilities:

  1. Traffic metrics: Monitor performance indicators across all your communication channels.
  2. Billing: Understand usage and cost details.
  3. Status and error codes: Understand what happened with your traffic and why it was not delivered.

Supported traffic and billing types

Observe MCP supports the following traffic and billing types.

CategorySupported types
TrafficSMS, Facebook, Instagram, Kakao, LINE, MMS, RCS, Telegram, Viber, WhatsApp, Zalo, Apple Messages for Business
BillingSMS, SMS operator fee, MMS, MMS operator fee, RCS, WhatsApp, Viber, Apple Messages for Business, Kakao, Mobile Push, Number Lookup, Carrier Lookup, AgentOS, AI
LogsSMS, MMS, RCS, WhatsApp, Viber, Apple Messages for Business, LINE, Messenger, Instagram
NOTE

Voice and Email traffic are not supported in the initial Observe MCP scope.

Connect and authenticate

Observe MCP supports both API key and OAuth 2.1 authentication.

Endpoint: https://mcp.infobip.com/observe

To connect with an API key:

  1. Create an API key in the API keys page and assign the following scopes: billing:usage:view, metrics:manage, messages-api:manage, and error-codes:read.

  2. Add the endpoint to your MCP client configuration with an Authorization header:

    json
    1{
    2 "mcpServers": {
    3 "observe": {
    4 "type": "http",
    5 "url": "https://mcp.infobip.com/observe",
    6 "headers": {
    7 "Authorization": "App <API_KEY>"
    8 }
    9 }
    10 }
    11}
  3. Restart your MCP client.

To connect with OAuth 2.1:

  1. Add the endpoint to your MCP client configuration without an Authorization header.
  2. Restart your MCP client.
  3. When prompted, log in with your Infobip credentials and authorize the required scopes: billing:usage:view, metrics:manage, messages-api:manage, and error-codes:read.

How to use it

After you configure the MCP server, ask your AI agent about traffic you have sent through Infobip.

Example prompts:

  • "How did my WhatsApp delivery rate trend over the last 7 days?"
  • "How much did I spend on SMS last month?"
  • "I keep getting EC_UNKNOWN_SUBSCRIBER, what does it mean?"
  • "Why were my RCS messages not delivered yesterday?"
