Stage 1: Get a 10DLC number
A 10DLC (10-Digit Long Code) is a standard USA phone number (for example, +1-555-123-4567) dedicated to your messaging program.
- Log in to your Infobip account.
- Go to Channels and Numbers > Numbers.
- Select Buy Number.
- Select destination country: United States.
- In the list of number types, select Long code (10DLC).
- (Optional) Configure number settings:
- State, area code, and exchange code: Choose for better targeting
- Application and entity (CPaaSX customers only): Connect for invoicing and reporting
- Additional contact email: Provide an email to receive updates about your request
- Select Next.
- Review the payment summary:
- Set quantity: Choose how many numbers to purchase
- One-time fee (per number)
- Monthly fee (per number)
- Total due now (one-time fee × quantity)
- Total monthly fee (ongoing cost)
- Select Order Now to complete the purchase.
What happens next: Infobip assigns your number instantly in most cases. If you requested a specific area code that is not currently available, assignment may take 1 to 3 days. You will receive an email confirmation when the number is ready.
Use the Resource Request API to request a 10DLC number programmatically:
See the API reference for full request/response details.
Importing an existing number: If you already have a 10DLC number from another provider, see Migrating 10DLC numbers for complete migration procedures.
Stage 2: Register your brand
A brand represents your company or organization. You need a registered brand before creating campaigns. For complete brand registration guidance, see Understanding brands.
- Log in to your Infobip account.
- Go to Channels and Numbers > Tools & Compliance > US Sender Registration.
- Select the Brands tab.
- Select Create Brand > 10DLC > Create Brand.
- Complete all required fields (Legal Company Name, DBA, Website, Address, Business Information, Contact Email).

- Infobip validates the brand in approximately 15 minutes. If you opt into enhanced vetting, this can take 1 to 3 business days.

See the API reference for request/response schemas.
Timeline: Approximately 15 minutes for standard registration; 1 to 3 business days if enhanced vetting is selected
Stage 3: Create and register campaigns
A campaign represents a specific messaging program (for example, "Marketing promos," "Order alerts," "Account notifications"). Each campaign maps to carriers and gets individual approval. For complete campaign creation guidance, see Understanding campaigns.

- Log in to your Infobip account.
- Go to Channels and Numbers > Tools & Compliance > US Sender Registration.
- Select the Campaigns tab.
- Select Create Campaign > 10DLC > Create Campaign.
- Select your 10DLC number(s) and brand (you can select multiple numbers for a single campaign).
- Complete campaign information:
- Campaign name (up to 30 characters, no special characters)

- Embedded links
- Number pooling (for more than 50 numbers)
- Define Opt-in experience:

- Opt-in confirmation message (first message after opt-in)
- Example messages (2 to 3 examples of actual content)
- Help message (response to HELP keyword)
- Opt-out message (response to STOP keyword)
- Add Support information:
- Customer support email
- Customer support phone number
- SMS terms and conditions URL
- (Optional) Upload Supporting documents (CTA images, opt-in evidence, and so on).
- (Optional) Connect for invoice: Associate application/entity for CPaaSX customers.
- Select SUBMIT FOR REVIEW.
Infobip compliance team reviews within 2 to 3 business days, then submits to TCR for carrier approval (3 to 5 additional business days).
Use the Campaign Registration API to create campaigns programmatically:
See the API reference for request/response schemas.
Unlike short codes, 10DLC does not require a separate "Configure keywords and routing" step. Keywords (STOP, HELP, and so on) and their responses are configured as part of the campaign registration form in Stage 3. The opt-in/opt-out methods you specify become part of your campaign compliance setup. 10DLC is designed primarily for one-way messaging (marketing, alerts, OTP), so inbound message routing is not a standard requirement.
If you need two-way messaging capabilities, consider upgrading to a short code, which includes keyword handling and inbound message routing features.

Troubleshooting
| Issue | Cause | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| Brand registration rejected | Incorrect business registration number or mismatched business name | Verify EIN/Tax ID matches state records, update brand with correct legal name, and resubmit. See Understanding brands. |
| Campaign not approved | Message sample violates compliance rules | Review message against USA SMS compliance requirements, update message sample, and resubmit. |
| Messages not sending | Campaign not yet active, or number reputation too low | Verify campaign status is "Active" and that all recipients have valid opt-in consent. Contact support if the issue is reputation-related. |
| Low delivery rates | Recipient carriers filtering messages, or reputation score dropping | Review USA SMS compliance requirements, ensure valid opt-ins, and check carrier feedback in logs. |
| Slow carrier approval | Campaign content unclear, or carrier backlog | Contact Infobip support with your campaign ID. They can escalate with carriers. |
