Clicks by URL report

The Clicks by URL report gives you aggregated link-click activity across your messaging and email channels. You build the report yourself: choose the channels to include, then compose the columns from the dimensions and metrics that matter to you, including a dedicated URL dimension that breaks clicks down by the exact link that was clicked. It uses the shared builder under Analyze > Reports, described in Report builders.

Use this report when you need to:

  • See which links in your messages get the most clicks, per URL
  • Compare click performance across channels, campaigns, countries, or accounts
  • Measure engagement with metrics such as total clicks, unique clicks, and click-through rate
  • Schedule a recurring export that always reflects the same structure

For related engagement metrics reported per channel rather than per URL, see the Delivery and traffic performance report. Click tracking depends on URL shortening and URL tracking being enabled.

Access and availability

The Clicks by URL report requires the Account Manager or Analyze Manager role. See account settings for role management.

With this role, you can view data for your account and related sub-accounts. If you log in as a sub-account, you see only your own account data.

The maximum lookback period is 90 days. For retention and full data availability details, see Reporting overview.

NOTEClicks are only counted for messages sent with shortened, tracked links. If a channel or message was sent without URL tracking, its clicks do not appear in this report.

Period and schedule

Select a date range for the report and choose whether it runs once (One-time report) or on a recurring schedule (Recurring report). The maximum lookback period is 90 days.

One-time report

Select a Period preset, or set a custom range.

OptionDetails
PresetsLast 3 hours, Last 6 hours, Last 24 hours, Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, This week, Last week, This month, Last month
Custom rangeSet the start day and time, end day and time, and time zone.

Recurring report

Set how often the report runs and the period each run covers.

SettingDescription
Report forThe period each run covers. The available options depend on the selected frequency.
FrequencyHow often the report runs: Daily (default), Weekly, or Monthly.
Start creating report atThe time each report is generated. The default is 06:00.

The Report for options depend on the frequency. If you change the frequency and the selected period is not allowed for it, the form automatically switches to the first allowed option.

Report structure and grouping logic

The Structure section of the report builder has two columns: dimensions determine how rows are grouped, and metrics determine the values calculated for each row. You can combine dimensions and metrics from any of the supported channels in a single report.

In the tables in this section, "all channels" refers to the channels listed under Coverage.

Dimensions

Dimensions define how report rows are grouped. Some dimensions depend on another dimension or on the channel selected.

DimensionDescriptionApplies toRequirements
AccountInfobip account name, for example "Acme Corp - Marketing Division"All channelsNone
ChannelThe communication channel used to send the message, for example SMS, Email, or WhatsAppAll channelsNone
DayGranulation by dayAll channelsNone
UsernameUnique username of the user who initiated the trafficAll channelsNone
CountryThe country from which the click originatedAll channelsNone
CampaignThe name of the Broadcast or Journey (Moments flow) campaign associated with the messageAll channelsNone
Campaign IDThe unique identifier for a Broadcast or Journey (Moments flow) campaignAll channelsRequires the Campaign dimension
Campaign referenceThe campaign reference ID for traffic sent over Infobip APIs or integrationsAll channelsNone
URLThe specific link that was clickedAll channelsLimits available metrics. See Metrics.
Device typeThe type of device used to click the link, for example mobile, desktop, or tabletEmailNone

Metrics

Metrics define the values calculated for each row. Metrics are automatically disabled when the required channel is not selected. For full definitions and calculations, see the Messaging metrics reference and Email metrics reference.

MetricMeasuresApplies to
Total clicksAll click events, including repeat clicks by the same recipientAll channels
Unique clicksDistinct recipients who clicked, counted once eachAll channels
Click-through rate (CTR)The percentage of delivered messages that resulted in a clickAll channels
Click-to-open rate (CTOR)The percentage of recipients who opened the message and then clicked a linkEmail, WhatsApp, RCS
IMPORTANTWhen you add the URL dimension, the report returns only Total clicks and Unique clicks. Rate metrics (CTR and CTOR) are not available per URL: a rate needs a denominator (such as delivered or sent traffic) that is not tracked at the individual-URL level, so a per-URL rate would always be inaccurate.

Available filters

Filters narrow the data set before it is aggregated. Some filters require specific permissions.

FilterDescriptionRequirements
AccountSpecific accounts in the hierarchyMultiple accounts and the account view permission
UserSpecific users who initiated the trafficThe users view permission

Create a Clicks by URL report

  1. In the web interface, go to Analyze > Reports.
  2. Under Performance reports, select Clicks by URL.
  3. Select Create report.
  4. In the Channels and services section, select the channels to include.
  5. In the Period and schedule section, select a date range and choose between a one-time or recurring report. See Period and schedule above.
  6. In the Structure section, select the dimensions to group by and the metrics to measure. Metrics that are not available for the selected channels are disabled. See Report structure and grouping logic above.
  7. In the Filters section, optionally select Add new filter to narrow the results. See Available filters above.
  8. In the Export options section, choose the file format and delivery options:
    • Export file format: Select .xlsx (spreadsheet) or .csv (plain text).
    • Export file to external server: Select a server configuration to automatically upload the report after generation. See Configure data export.
    • Get report download link by email: Send a download link to your account email address, and optionally add additional recipients.
  9. Select Create report.

Report generation runs in the background. When the report is ready, its status changes to Ready, a Download button appears, and recipients receive the download link by email if you configured email delivery.

Find your report in the Reports list. Once a report is ready, select the three-dot menu next to it to access these actions:

  • View details: Report type, date range, configuration, and export details
  • Duplicate: Creates a new report with the same configuration
  • Delete: Permanently deletes the report

For full status definitions and what to do when a report fails or expires, see Manage reports.

NOTEIf you cannot access this report, verify you have the Account manager or Analyze Manager role. If your role is correct but access is still unavailable, contact your account manager. For Failed, Stopped, or Expired reports, see Manage reports.
