Add segment to communication

Add segment to communication

EARLY ACCESS

Add segments to a Journey or Broadcast to send targeted messages to specific audiences. To create segments, see Create a segment. To learn about segment types, see Segment types.

When you add a segment to communication, all person profiles in that segment receive the communication.


Add to Journey

  1. Go to Customer ProfilesSegments.
  2. Select the segment you want to add.
  3. Select Add to communication.
  4. Select Journey.
  5. Choose whether to create a new Journey or add to a Journey:
    • New Journey - Creates a new Journey with a Continuous entry point. The selected segment is automatically added to the audience.
    • Existing Journey - Adds the segment to an active Journey that has a Continuous entry point. Select the Journey from the list and select Add to Journey.

The persons in the selected segment are now included in the Journey audience.


Add to Broadcast

  1. Go to Customer ProfilesSegments.
  2. Select the segment you want to add.
  3. Select Add to communication.
  4. Select Broadcast.
  5. Select the channel for the broadcast (SMS, Email, WhatsApp, and more).
  6. The persons from the selected segment are automatically added to the Recipients field.
  7. Follow the instructions in Create broadcast to complete the broadcast setup.
Note

Segments update dynamically based on their rules. If you use a segment in a Journey with a Continuous entry point, new persons who meet the segment criteria are automatically added to the Journey.
