Segment types

EARLY ACCESS

Customer Profiles provides two types of segments:

  1. Predefined segments
  2. User-defined segments

Predefined segments

Predefined segments are automatically available in Customer Profiles.

The following predefined segments are available:

  • Active mobile users - Uses the App Launch event that has happened more than or equal to 1 time in the last 30 days
  • Inactive mobile users - Uses the App Launch event that has not happened more than or equal to 1 time in the last 30 days
NoteThese segments automatically update based on user activity. You cannot edit or delete predefined segments.

User-defined segments

User-defined segments are custom segments that you create based on specific criteria. They give you complete control over your segmentation strategy.

You can create segments based on:

  • Person attributes (such as location, demographics, custom attributes)
  • Events (such as purchases, page views, app launches)
  • Combinations of attributes and events

You can edit and delete user-defined segments unless they are currently used in active Journey campaigns.
